The Pierre-Joseph Redouté Prize

In homage to the most famous of flower painters, a literary prize was founded in 2000 to celebrate the best garden books published in the French language during the year.

Organised by the Sarthe Gardens Association in partnership with Jardiland, the P.J. Redouté Prize is presented every year on the first week-end of June, during the Garden Week-end at the Château du Lude.

The P.J. Redouté Prize is awarded by an eclectic jury: Martine Gérardin, journalist; Jacques Garcia, decorator; Marie-Anne Chazel, actress; Jean-Noël Burte, Director of the Luxembourg Gardens; Maryvonne Pinault, garden lover; Olivier Colin, botanist; Diane de Belder, a Belgian gardenlover; Jean-Paul Mulot, journalist; and Franz-Olivier Giesbert, writer and journalist.

Jardiland, the state government of the Sarthe, the regional government of the Pays de la Loire, Laliqu and Ruinart all support the P.J. Redouté Prize.

Come to the Garden Week-end at Le Lude and meet the distinguished prize winners and writers speaking and participating in the event.
