THE AUTHOR
Francis Peeters is a speaker, journalist and specialist of Asian art. Passionate about gardens, he created himself in Belgium a garden rich of about 1 500 species and cultivars. His numerous trips in the Far East allowed him to discover the most hidden facets of eastern civilizations, which he shares with his works and conferences.

THE BOOK
Jardins secrets du Japon reveals the essence of the Japanese landscape art with 40 unknown gardens. It is intended for garden lovers as well as passionate of Japanese culture. Far from the traditional tourist sites, the author invites us to explore places full of spirituality and serenity, when each element, from the rock to the lantern, wears a deep symbolism. The work enlightens the fundamental principles oft he Japanese landscape art, such as the techniques applied, which could be sources of inspiration for the garden lovers.
Guy Vandersande’s photographs magnificently illustrate the diversity and the beauty of those gardens, offering to the reader a visual immersion in this fascinating universe.
